Buckle Up

Finally guys, something for the testosterone since I received a feedback from an estrogen to alternate my blog post about cars once awhile. Patrick, Thomas and Christopher, sorry to say its not those regular Skyline's or Type-R's we usually talk about or for matter of fact nothing JDM-ish or technical that the estrogen's can't understand. Just pure simple review in English without engine numbers and bolts or cams or aftermarket stuff, But mind you, this is not just any car, Its the "VW Scirocco Studie-R"..

Initially in the beginning of November, I went out with the boys on the "Big Ring" (An inner-road journey to P.Dickson integrating violent curves and 1-2G's corners, uphill stretches and downhill finishes) and I was riding with Mr.A till VW surfaced itself in our conversation. Mr.A was planning to buy a new sports car and looking at the choices in the automotive industry, one can easily be spoilt. Money has never been an object to Mr.A but what aghast me was when Aaron's 500whp(est)Skyline R34 will be up for sale in replacement for the VW Scirocco.

Amazed with Mr.A coming to a halt with the Godzilla, I begin to wonder, is the Scirocco a Godzilla eater? Since Aaron is totally a car enthusiast that spent close to 6-figures modding up the Godzilla with top notch equipment and party pieces to make the Godzilla an ultimate eye catcher, why a VW Aaron? I had to get to the bottom of it, and I did.. Just to my surprise, I stumble upon this facts in context to the VW that even God would had never seen it coming.[Godzilla = Nissan Skyline R34]

Behold, VW's ultimate pleasure & pain driving machine..
The VW Scirocco Studie R !!

Here are the facts, The Scirocco Studie R is a more roadgoing version of the Scirocco GT24 race car – and is a thinly veiled guide to the R20T that’s in development. white concept car further fleshes out Wolfsburg’s thinking. Boasting an agressive body kit with a deep front splitter, while the diffuser are claimed to be 100% in the interests of aerodynamics.Of course. Bold triple spoke 19-inch alloy wheels and a vast rear wing, it certainly looks the part – and this concept also features red and green detailing on its white paintwork, in a nod to the motor show’s host nation.

The Studie R concept car has a high performance 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 262bhp. The unit is a development of the same powerplant in Audi's S3 and the power is channeled to the front wheels (sadly) through a 6-speed dual clutch transmission.

Inside the hottest Scirocco yet are black and white Nappa leather Recaro seats and a smattering of carbonfibre trim. The Italian-inspired red and green design accents continue on the seams of the Recaro bucket seats, steering wheel, armrest, gearknob and floor mats. Studie R is equipped with twin pipes and nestling behind the polished rims lie a set of four-piston brake callipers and sport-tuned suspension.

To my opinion, its a fantastic sexually appealing hatch and its sure to have the girls look at it every time you slam it down the roads and with its effortless R20T, it surely can be beaten, whipped and at the end of the day it will still give you a comfort ride back to your home. Downfall will be a FF based(front wheel)layout which will cause the weight to be pushed down onto the front wheels ultimately reducing the grip and performance.
